Single-Phase Isolation and Safety Transformers

Inducto manufactures single-phase low-voltage transformers for industrial, control and specialist applications. The range includes IN safety transformers and single-phase isolation transformers for installations requiring galvanic separation and a reliable auxiliary power supply.

The primary and secondary windings are electrically separated. Energy is transferred through the magnetic field in the core, which provides the isolation function. Depending on the project, windings may be made of copper or aluminium conductors and the transformer can be supplied as an open unit or in a protective enclosure.

Our single-phase transformers are designed for stable operation, low acoustic emission and long service life. Vacuum impregnation improves the mechanical strength of the windings and their resistance to moisture and vibration.

Applications

Single-phase transformers are used in control and signalling circuits, measurement systems, industrial equipment, traditional welding machines and auxiliary power supplies. Special versions can also be designed for demanding environments and applications with increased safety requirements.

Selection and protection

Correct selection of the primary-side protection is essential. The inrush current occurring when the transformer is energised must be taken into account when selecting fuses or circuit breakers.

Example technical parameters

Typical selected versions are manufactured to EN 61558-2-6, with power ratings from 25 to 1,000 VA, primary voltage 400 V, secondary voltage 24 V, frequency 47-63 Hz, insulation class B (130 C), ambient temperature from -25 C to +45 C, and mounting by angle brackets or DIN rail. Other parameters are available on request.
