Single-Phase and Three-Phase Line Reactors

Line reactors are installed at the input of variable-frequency drives, converters and UPS systems. They help reduce the influence of supply disturbances on the equipment and limit disturbances generated by the power-electronic load and returned to the network.

In drive systems, the reactor limits rapid current changes, supports the input rectifier and reduces the amplitude of current harmonics drawn from the supply. It can also reduce commutation disturbances and improve the operating conditions of the converter.

Inducto manufactures single-phase and three-phase line reactors in open and enclosed versions. The windings are impregnated to improve mechanical and electrical durability.

Three-phase line reactors

Commonly used in industrial drive systems supplied from a three-phase network. The rated current, inductance and voltage drop are selected for the converter and application. A voltage drop of approximately 2-4% is often used as a reference, but the final value must be selected for the actual system.

Single-phase line reactors

Used with smaller drives, power supplies and automation equipment connected to a single-phase network. Compact mechanical versions can be prepared for installation on a mounting plate or DIN rail.

Construction

The reactor consists of a laminated ferromagnetic core with designed magnetic air gaps, copper or aluminium winding, and terminals in the form of screw connectors, copper bars or cable lugs.
