Reactors for Drives, Filters and Power Systems
Reactors are used to limit electrical disturbances, smooth current, protect converters and motors, and control reactive power. Inducto manufactures line reactors, motor reactors, du/dt reactors, filter reactors, compensation reactors and custom designs for industrial and power engineering applications.
The correct reactor is selected according to its function in the installation. Key parameters include inductance, rated current, linearity, voltage drop, losses, insulation class, magnetic saturation behaviour and cooling conditions.
We design the core, magnetic air gap, windings and mechanical construction so that the reactor maintains the required parameters throughout the intended operating range.
Line reactors
Installed on the supply side of converters and variable-frequency drives to limit current distortion and protect input components.
Motor and du/dt reactors
Installed between the drive and motor to reduce voltage stress, switching effects and cable-related overvoltage.
Filter and compensation reactors
Filter reactors operate with capacitor banks in detuned power factor correction systems. Compensation reactors absorb excess capacitive reactive power in cable networks and lightly loaded installations.
