Protective Enclosures for Transformers and Reactors
Inducto supplies protective enclosures for transformers and reactors used in industrial and power engineering installations. Standard IP23 enclosures are available for selected 2IN, 2INH and 3IN transformers and for INK 3 reactors.
The enclosure provides protection against accidental contact and solid objects while maintaining the airflow required for natural cooling. Ventilation openings and internal clearances are designed to support stable operating temperature of the windings and insulation.
Enclosures can be adapted to single-phase and three-phase products, including isolation transformers, medical transformers, autotransformers and high-power reactors.
IP23 protection
IP23 provides protection against access to hazardous parts and solid objects larger than 12.5 mm, as well as water spray falling at an angle of up to 60 degrees from the vertical. It is commonly used for indoor industrial installations requiring ventilation.
Higher degrees of protection
Enclosures with a higher IP rating can be designed on request for indoor or outdoor use. Increasing the degree of protection changes the cooling conditions and therefore requires individual thermal calculation, loss assessment and often increased enclosure dimensions or forced ventilation.
Customisation
Dimensions, cable entry, terminal access, lifting points, ventilation, colour and mounting arrangement can be adapted to the transformer or reactor and the installation requirements.
