Custom Air-Core Coils
Air-core coils are used where stable inductance, high linearity and the absence of ferromagnetic-core saturation are important. Because there is no magnetic core, the inductance remains predictable over a wide current range and the coil does not introduce core losses or magnetic hysteresis.
Inducto manufactures air-core coils for filters, resonant circuits, audio systems, radio-frequency equipment, measurement systems and specialist industrial applications. The electrical and mechanical design is adapted to the required inductance, current, frequency and installation space.
Accuracy of winding, conductor quality, coil diameter, number of turns and mechanical stabilisation determine the inductance, resistance, Q factor and repeatability of the finished component.

Construction
The winding is made from insulated copper or aluminium conductor. Depending on the application, the coil may be self-supporting or mounted on a non-magnetic former. Mechanical stability can be improved by bonding wire, varnish, resin or a dedicated support structure.
